Does Evil work with XEmacs or SXEmacs, currently? Also, this link : http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.emacs.vim-emulation/1733 Does not seem to work well.

Viper only emulates vi; "Evil" emulates Vim. Evil seems to be the best Vim-emulation layer available today. It's the successor to Vimpulse and vim-mode.
